Our Dugsi program takes a comprehensive approach to understanding and studying the Quran. It builds upon the Islamic Studies Curriculum offered at our school. The Islamic Studies curriculum focuses on teaching the youth the knowledge to acquire sound belief and practice their faith correctly. While the Islamic Studies covers topics ranging from Islamic creed, law, spirituality and much more, the Dugsi program focuses studying the Quran
Core objectives of the Dugsi program are: Hingaad program, Intermediate Hifdh, and Tafsir
Students in this program will learn the essential skills of the Arabic language such as reading and writing. Students will also be introduced to basic tajweed rules.
Students in this program will focus on their first completion of the Quran. The students in this program will be introduced to advanced tajweed rules, and tips to memorizing the Quran.
Students in this program are exposed to comprehensive study of the Quran, its themes, messages, and rhetorical features-all based upon the authoritative tafsirs of our tradition. The preservation of the rich tradition of Quranic understanding is utmost importance for Muslims. By taking Tafsir, the students will take part in this significant tradition by preserving the meanings of the Quran within their hearts.
